Walking the Road to Bethlehem

A DVD series by Adam Hamilton

As December approaches, it’s easy to think we know the story of Christmas. We all have images of the manger and the stable, the ox and lamb, Mary and Joseph, and the baby Jesus. Shepherds and angels abound as we sing carols about the coming Messiah.

But how accurate are the pictures we have in our minds about what happened? And does it matter?

This year for Advent we are going to go through the DVD series called The Journey. In the series, Adam Hamilton travels with us from Nazareth to Bethlehem in this fascinating look at the birth of Jesus Christ. Using historical information, archaeological findings, and personal reflections, Hamilton illuminates this most amazing moment in history. We follow the footsteps of Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, and others, gaining insight into our own journeys with Christ.

Hamilton’s approach helps us see the pictures of what happened more clearly, and places the story of Jesus’ birth in the midst of the dust and dirt of the first century. By doing so we will have a better way to imagine what happened when he was born, and a better understanding of the God who would enter the world as he did.

Please join us each Sunday of Advent as we travel to Bethlehem, to witness the birth of Jesus, and to celebrate this Christmas and the good news of God with us.
